The armorial stone (ME043-020002-) with the Bathe and Thunder arms that was originally ‘from the wall of a house near Rathmolyan’ according to Butler (1861, 365) is likely to have come from the tower house at Summerhill Demesne (ME043-021001-), as Peter Lynch’s second wife was Elizabeth Thunder. The stone later spent time with the wayside cross (ME043-020001-) in a rockery at Summerhill Demesne (FitzGerald 1917) before being placed in the village, from where it has disappeared.
