What is recorded here

Situated on a slight E-facing slope. The parish church of Drumlargan (ME043-037----) is within a neglected sub-oval graveyard (dims c. 60m NE-SW; c. 45m NW-SE) defined by masonry walls, with scrub on the perimeter. The graveyard was not enclosed in the late 17th century, according to Dopping (1682-5) (Ellison 1972, 6), and Cogan (1862-70, 2, 385) says it was only 'lately enclosed. The few headstones date from c. 1784 to c. 1908, but the graveyard is within a larger ecclesiastical enclosure (ME043-037002-).Archaeological testing (04E0745) by C. Duffy c. 90m to the NE at the closest point and on the likely line of the ecclesiastical enclosure ditch produced no related material (excavations.ie 2004: 1224).
