What is recorded here

In 1974 a number of skeletons were discovered during bulldozing operations in a sand pit. Four partly articulated skeletons were found (depth 1.20m) orientated W-E and a large amount of bone was found in the vicinity of the burials. No grave structures were evident. They represent a minimum of ten individuals (1974:94) mainly adult males but some young adults were identified (Cahill and Sikora 2011, vol 2, 500-501). The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
