What is recorded here

Situated on a slight rise in a gently undulating landscape with slightly higher ground to the NW. This is a raised and slightly domed (H 0.5m), grass-covered oval area (dims c. 80m NW-SE; c. 63m NE-SW) defined by a scarp (at SE: Wth 2m; H c. 1.3m), with an outer fosse (at NW: Wth of top 4.5m; Wth of base 2m; ext. D 0.5m) NW-N continued as a drain N-E. An original entrance is not identified but there is a modern entrance at SE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of revision: 5 July 2019 Amended: 24 March 2023
