What is recorded here

Situated on a slight rise at the SE edge of a fairly level landscape with the ground falling away NW-E S, and c. 100m from the crest of a steep slope down (H c. 30m) to a SSW-NNE section of the River Boyne. The cropmark of a subcircular area (int. dims c. 40m NW-SE; c. 35m NE-SW) defined by what might be a stone spread (Wth c. 6-12m) is most clearly visible on Google Earth (12/11/2005; 14/05/2020). It is accompanied by what is probably an outer fosse (Wth c. 5-10m) W-N-E and there is probably an entrance at NW where these features are narrowest and the external ground is level. It was first reported by C. Corlett. See the attached views from Google Earth (12/11/2005; 14/05/2020 Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 31 March 2023
