Situated on a level landscape. Archaeological monitoring (13E0209) by Niall Roycroft of road works identified two spreads of burnt bone and charcoal that were 7m apart. See: https://excavations.ie/report/2013/Meath/0024209/ accessed on 04/04/2019. Complete excavation (14E0175) by Mark Moraghan recovered small amounts of cremated human bone in each pit (diam. 0.15m; D 0.08m: diam. 0.5-0.65m; D 0.04m). A sample of hazel charcoal from the smaller deposit produced a C14 date of 2880 +-2 BP (UBA 26996) which calibrates as 1192-938 BC.
