Located towards the top of a slight NE-facing slope. This is a D-shaped grass-covered area (dims 31.2m WNW-ESE; 20.6m NNE-SSW) defined by a scarp (H 1.3m at WNW to 2.1m at ESE) SW-N-SE that is truncated at S by the N edge of Cortown graveyard (ME024-001001-). There is no visible fosse or entrance, and the scarp incorporates a mound (ME024-001006-) on the N side (max. ext. dim. 51.3m WNW-ESE). It is within the ecclesiastical enclosure (ME024-001004-) of the early church of St. Boithín and the parish church of Balrathboyne (ME024-001----).
