Archaeological survey E of Knowth passage tomb complex (ME019-030----) identified a substantial, slightly elevated, rectangular platform (dims. c. 65m N-S) surrounded by a broad, external fosse (Wth 15m, D 0.70m ). An electrical resistance survey revealed possible wall footings or a stone revetment defining the perimeter of the rectangular platform. A magnetometer survey revealed further internal features. This may be the remains of a Cistercian grange (Fenwick, 2012).
