Four areas with stone settings were established outside the kerb of Tomb 1C, the most elaborate being outside the entrances to the E and W tombs but another is just SE of the mound. Two small related areas are adjacent to Tomb 16, and a fifth setting is associated with Tomb 4. Just 2m outside the entrance at NE to Tomb 4 a circular area paved with quartz (diam. c. 1.6m) is enclosed by 2 settings of contiguous, low stones (ext. diam. c. 2.8-3m) set upright, but all the elements only survived only E-S-W as the rest is destroyed by a later pit. This feature is conserved in situ. (Eogan 1984, 38)
