What is recorded here

This is medieval house 2 located c. 10m S of the entrance to Tomb 1C West of the great mound and built on the fill of the lower fosse of the rath. It was a poorly preserved rectangular structure (dims c. 5.4m N-S; c. 4m E-W) evidenced in portions of its N and E walls, parts of its cobbled floor and some of its hearth. Its E wall was a facing for the mound and the base of its W wall could have been provided by the kerb of the mound. A cross-wall lies over the floor at its S end, and Souterrain 1 began in the NE angle of the house demonstrating that they are contemporary.
