Five concentrations of Beaker pottery, part of Eogan’s Phase 5 – Final Neolithic / Beaker complex dating to c. 2500 – c. 2200 BC (Eogan and Cleary 2017, 42) are recorded around Tomb 1C. This is Concentration B, an area of about 18 square metres of a thin habitation layer just E of Tomb 6 on the W side of the great mound. Amongst the flints recovered were 29 artefacts, principally blades and rounded scrapers. Around 300 sherds of Beaker pottery were recorded representing about 30 vessels that appear to be Bell Beakers. (Eogan 1984, 260-69; Eogan and Roche 1997, 228)
