This Neolithic House site, No. 2, is part of Eogan's Phase 3 Decorated Pottery complex: Domestic activity - Zone E (Eogan and Roche 1997, 6, 54-8) is situated between Tombs 1C and 15. This Phase 3, now called Middle Neolithic, is associated with the construction of the tombs and dated to c. 3500-2900 cal. BC (Eogan and Cleary 2017, 41). Neolithic House 2 could consist of a circular area (diam. 6.5m) defined by an arc of 12 stake-holes N-E that was only partially excavated and was covered by a thin humus. No habitation layer was discovered associated with it and it partially occupies the same ground as Neolithic House 3, which it is thought to pre-date.
