What is recorded here

In 1917 a skeleton and an urn were found in a sandpit near Wilkinstown. The cist had been closed by the finder to protect it (Cahill & Sikora, 2011, vol 2, 451). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Revised by: Geraldine Stout Date of revision: 17 July 2016

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows only the centre of the wider government map area. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
