The daimhliag, or principal church, of the Columban monastery (ME017-044012-), which achieved Cathedral status AD 1152-1211, and later became the parish church (ME017-044031-) are in a rectangular graveyard (dims c. 95m E-W; c. 65-70m N-S), which is defined by masonry walls (H c. 2-3m). A round tower, four high crosses and numerous examples of medieval carving are in the graveyard, which is within the ecclesiastical enclosure (ME017-044025-).
