Situated on a rise in a level, low-lying landscape. This feature is not depicted on any OS map, but it is known locally as a rath. It is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 35.8m WNW-ESE; 35.3m NNE-SSW) defined by the lip of a bank (at S: H 0.2m) but mostly by a fosse that is clearly visible SE-SW (Wth of top 5.5m; int. D 1m; ext. D 0.5m) and NW-E (Wth of top 4m; ext. D 0.3m) but less visible elsewhere. There are traces of an outer bank (Wth of base 4.5-5m; ext. H 0.3m) SE-SW and at N, and there is a causeway across the fosse at N. It is visible with a wide fosse on OS aerial images (1995) but its surface profile might have been removed by 2000 (OSAP).
