What is recorded here

Situated on a summit of a beaded N-S ridge, which is overlooked by higher hills to the W and SE. It is not depicted on any OS 6-inch map but is visible as a feature on aerial photographs (GSIAP: N 259, 260). This is a grass-covered mound of earth and stone (diam. of base c. 20m; H 2m at N to 4m at S) with some bushes. It could be natural. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of revision: 15 January 2019
