What is recorded here

Located towards the top of the SW-facing slope of a drumlin. The cropmark of a large D-shaped enclosure (dims c. 80m E-W; c. 50m N-S) defined by a single fosse feature and with the straight E-W side at N is visible on the OSI aerial images (1995). It’s NE angle was accommodated by a niche in a NW-SE field bank. It was first identified by Ivor Kenny, and the line of a gas pipeline going to the gypsum plant at Baalynaclose, c. 600m to the W, runs through it but the enclosure was not detected. Rath (ME002-054----) is at the SE end of the drumlin ridge, c. 150m to the E. See the attached view from OSI images (1995) Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 5 January, 2015
