What is recorded here

Located towards the top of the E-facing spine of a W-E spur. This is a raised, circular and grass-covered area (diam. 40.5m N-S; 36m E-W) that slopes down slightly to the S (H 1m). It is defined by an earthen bank (Wth of base 5.7-7m; int. H 0.4-0.7m; ext. H 1.3-1.5m) and hedge that is reduced to a scarp SW-WNW. There is no visible fosse and the entrance (Wth of base 2.9m) is at E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of revision: 31 August 2018
