Covered by cairn (MA120-052----). Uncovered by Wilde in 1867. Gritstone flag rested on a capstone which covered a chamber (Wth 0.9; D 0.7m) with side-walls constructed of small stones. It contained an urn with the 'incinerated remains of human bones' (Wilde 1872, 224-5). The above description has been derived from D. Lavelle (compiler), An Archaeological Survey of Ballinrobe and District including Lough Mask and Lough Carra. Lough Mask and Lough Carra Tourist Development Association (1994), No. 20.
