What is recorded here

In woodland, located on top of a rocky ridge. Knox (1904, 100) records this souterrain as follows: ‘In the flat above the castle [MA120-033001-] a couple of stones have fallen into the cave of an old fort [MA120-033003-] which occupied the end of the ridge. This would be the Cashel or Caher of the O’Caidhins, who have left their name in Ballykine, Baile O’Caidhin.' Compiled by: Jane O'Shaughnessy Date of upload: 15 October 2014
