This bawn, with its associated castle (MA117-045----), is listed as follows in the 1635 Strafford Inquisition of Co. Mayo: 'Thomas oge mc Tibbot Bourck -1/4 carton of Creagh,…and 1/2 of the castle and bawn thereon;…' (O' Sullivan 1958, 55). Its exact location in the townland is unknown.
