What is recorded here

In pasture, in lowlying undulating terrain characterised by low drumlin-like rises. This possible rath is not shown on any edition of the OS 6-inch maps. It was levelled at an unknown date in the past. Ephemeral remains are still visible at ground level, and are visible in aerial imagery. A low, flat-topped subcircular platform (top: c. 29m N−S; c. 35m E−W) defined by broadly slumped sides (H 1-1.2m at E, 1.5m at S; Wth slope c. 7m at E, 9m at S) that grade down smoothly from the flat top. At the base of the platform, a very shallow depression (Wth 3-4m), most likely a fosse is evident, on the outer edge of which on the SW arc and NE arcs is a barely discernible undulation, probably the levelled remains of an external bank. At W, the fosse crosses the base of a natural rise. At E, a N−S field fence, bordering a road, overlies or truncates the external bank.
