Located in lowlying flat, reclaimed pastureland. This burnt mound was discovered during archaeologically monitored works on the Lough Mask Regional Water Supply Scheme (2001-2002). It was recorded and sampled under licence 01E0314 (Guinan 2015, 104, 106, Treannaskehy III). The N edge of a low mound of burnt sandstone and charcoal was exposed beneath topsoil (D 0.5-0.6m) on the edge of the pipeline wayleave, with the bulk of the mound (diam. c. 10m) lying intact to S of the wayleave. The route of the pipeline was altered to avoid the monument. A charcoal sample produced a radiocarbon date of 3955+/-45 BP (2580-2300 BC) which dates the site to the Late Neolithic. There is a burnt mound (MA112-115----) c. 120m to NE and a fulacht fia (MA112-117----) c. 100m to S. (Guinan 2015, 104, 106).
