In pasture, located at the base of the SW slope of a hillock, bordering a broad, expanse of flat reclaimed pasture and boggy ground which stretches to SW–W.
A very low, sod-covered irregular-shaped rise (max. dim. c. 6m), the limits of which are not clearly defined. On the S side of the mound there is a shallow dip (diam c. 2m) opening to SW but it is unclear if this represents the location of a trough or is the result of recent disturbance. There is a small circular sod-covered rise (diam. 3-4m) c. 2m to W and 2m to SW of the latter, another small circular rise (2.5m N−S; 2.7m E-W), but it is unclear if either of these is associated with the burnt mound.
There is another burnt mound (MA111-102----) c. 100m to W in the same field, and a burnt mound (MA111-104001-) and a fulacht fia (MA111-104002-) are located c. 80-100m to SSW.
