What is recorded here

In pasture, on a slight elevation, with good views of the surrounding gently undulating terrain. There is a farmstead c. 20m to E. A circular embanked enclosure (diam. c. 30-35m) is shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; it is not shown on the 1930 edition, although a shallow kink in a field fence probably respects the original NW arc of the enclosure. This possible rath has been levelled, and the location is subsumed into two small rectangular fields bordered by drystone walls. A shallow curve in a N−S field wall preserves the curve of the W−NW arc of the enclosure; the wall appears to have been built on remnants of the original enclosing scarp (H 0.6m; Wth slope 2.4m). A slight undulation c. 30m to E probably represents a remnant of the bank on the NE arc of the enclosure. There is no visible trace of the S half of the enclosure.
