In pasture, adjacent to a field drain in a natural depression of wet ground. Ground rises gently to the NW.
Prominent roughly D-shaped, sod-covered rise (10.6m N–S; 14.4m E–W; H 0.5-0.6m) with broadly sloping sides. The SE side is marked by a slumped almost linear scarp (H 0.7m), possibly result of disturbance during construction of the field drain, which lies 2m to SE and is now largely silted up. A slight dip in the mound on the S-SW side, facing an area of wettish ground, may indicate the location of a trough. Angular stone fragments, charcoal fragments and dark soil were visible at the S and W sides of the mound when it was inspected in 1998. There is a church (MA103-008001-) and a children’s burial ground (MA103-008002-) c. 10m to NW.
