What is recorded here

In pasture, at the base of the S-facing slope of a natural rise, bordering a flat expanse of rough, wettish, rush-grown pasture. A compact, kidney-shaped grass-covered mound (12.9m E−W; 10m N−S; H 0.55m at E, 0.65m at W) composed of shattered stones in a charcoal-rich soil, with a shallow depression (2m N−S; c. 1m E−W) between the ‘arms’ to S most likely indicating the location of a trough. At N, where it back onto rising ground, the mound is only 0.25m in height; at S the height is 0.7m. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 23 November 2022
