What is recorded here

In pasture, located on top of a broad, elongated flat-topped ridge, with very good views in all directions over the surrounding undulating grassland intermixed with expanses of bog. An embanked enclosure (diam. 35-40m) is shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; it is not shown on later map editions. There is no visible trace of this enclosure on the flat top of the ridge which encompasses an area of c. 50m E–W by c. 40m N–S. There is a small enclosure (MA103-025001-) downslope on the SW slope of the ridge, and a rath (MA103-024----) is located 260m to SSW. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 4 November 2022
