In pasture, on a low narrow ridge flanked at N and S by lowlying, wettish pasture and bog. There are good views in all directions.
Not indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; marked as ‘Souterrain’ on the 1916 edition. Irregular-shaped pit (c. 4m N−S; 3m E−W; D 1m) bordered on the N side by a low mound (2m N−S; 3m E−W; H 0.6m) of earth, partly obscured by clumps of brambles. A lintelled opening is exposed in the SW side of the pit, with a large slab, probably a displaced lintel, lying adjacent. The opening reveals a small, semicircular drystone chamber (1.4m E−W; c. 1m N−S; H c. 0.6m) which is partly filled with soil. According to local tradition, the souterrain has two chambers.
