What is recorded here

In rough ground, with a farmyard immediately to W, located on a low natural rise, overlooking an expanse of rolling pasture to NE; views are restricted to S and W by buildings and trees; there is wet boggy ground to SW. A railway track is located a few meters to S. A circular embanked enclosure is indicated on the 1838 and 1916 OS 6-inch maps. The remains consist of a roughly circular area (diam. c. 27-30m) defined W–NNE by a dilapidated stony rise or scarp; at E–SW the outline can be traced only as a cropmark/concentration of thistles. A post and wire fence, on a NE–SW axis, crosses the E third of the enclosure. There are farm buildings immediately to W and N–NNE. Covered in long grass and weeds, with sycamore and beech growing around the perimeter. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 29 June 2022
