What is recorded here

In pasture, located in undulating terrain. Ground falls away gently to SE towards and expanse of bog. Shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as a roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 35-40m) crossed to SE of centre by a field boundary/townland boundary on a NW–SE axis; it is not shown on later map editions. The remains consist of a roughly D-shaped platform (28m NW–SE; 16.6m NE–SW to Td. boundary) defined on the curving side at NW by an earthen bank (Wth 1.5m; int. H 0.55m; ext. H 0.8m), reduced at N–SSE to a scarp. A dip (Wth 2-3m) in ground level outside the bank at NW may be a fosse. The straight side at SW is defined by the field wall/townland boundary, to S of which no surface trace of the S arc of the enclosure can be seen. At farm track clips the N–NNE edge of the enclosure.
