In Derrykin Lough. A small oval island (max. dim. c. 15m) is shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map in Derrykin Lough, very close to the W shore, with another small island/possible crannog (MA092-027----) c. 95m to NNW; neither is shown on later map editions where the margins of the lake are depicted as marshy. The lake levels have dropped so that the lake shore has receded by perhaps 20m from the levels shown on the 1838 map, leaving a margin of wettish reedy pasture. Ground rises gradually to W. No trace of a crannog is visible. A possible fulacht fia (MA092-111----) is located some meters to NW. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 24 May 2022
