What is recorded here

Located on the level top of a ridge, close to the break of slope on the SW side, with good views over a narrow valley to SW and of rolling pasture to NE. There is a possible rath (MA092-036----) 150m to N. A small embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 10-15m) is shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; a hachured circular feature is shown on the 1917 edition. There is no visible trace at ground level. Given its small size and ridge top siting, this monument may have been a barrow. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 24 February 2022

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
