Situated at the extreme south-eastern end of a flat peaty basin known locally as ‘Lough na bPoll’. The fulacht fia is overlooked by higher ground on the south-western, southern and eastern sides. It is a roughly oval mound (E–W 5.6m, NNE–SSW 4.3m, H 0.35–0.4m max.) with a lunate depression on the south-south-western side. The mound is mantled by a thick covering of peat up to 0.25m thick, beneath which is an impenetrable layer of angular fire-fractured stone. A second fulacht fia (MA085-005007-) lies c. 20m to NNW.
