At the NW end of Clare Island, located on a rocky knoll in an open expanse of coastal commonage. High cliffs drop to the sea c. 200m to N.
This consists of a rough arc (3.5-4m N–S) of loose stones which may represent the W half of a circular hut site. It is poorly defined and largely sod-covered. Immediately to E is a field wall which describes an irregular, meandering arc (c. 35m N–S) across the E slope of the knoll; it is one of several relict field walls on the W, N and E slopes the knoll, which are part of an extensive field system (MA084-001001-) which spreads to W and S. A possible cairn (MA084-036----) is located 45m to S.
