In pasture, located just below the crown of a hill. Ground falls away to S–SW giving good views. Overlooked by a higher ridge to NE.
A prostrate block of stone (L 0.9m; Wth 0.7m; T 0.5m) of pinkish conglomerate with quartz inclusions. The stone has a rectangular cross-section, and comes to a triangular peak at what would have been the top when upright. Adjacent to the NE end of the stone is a cavity or socket (0.7m x 0.4m; D 0.25m) which held the stone when it stood upright (pers. comm. Leo Morahan). The long axis of the stone when upright appears to have been NW–SE. According to local information, cattle used the stone as a scratching post and eventually knocked the stone over.
