What is recorded here

Within an ecclesiastical enclosure (MA082-035004-). Indicated as ‘Church (Site of)’ on the 1916 OS 6-inch map. The church is located on a raised area (c. 25m N–S; c. 20m E–W) in the centre of the ecclesiastical enclosure. The remains are scant. Wall footings (L 7-8m; Wth 0.7m; H 0.1m) define the S side of a roughly rectangular hollow (c. 6m E–W; c. 5m N–S) which may preserve the outline of the church. Lying within this rectangular hollow is a bullaun stone (MA082-035005-) and a possible standing stone (MA082-035006-). Another church (MA082-035002-) is located c. 30m to NE. A single hawthorn tree stands to NE of the hollow. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 22 December 2021
