In the SW corner of a pasture field, on a gentle SW-facing slope. A public road borders the SW side of the field, and a private road borders the NW side.
Indicated as ‘Burial Ground’ on the 1838 OS 6-inch map and as ‘Children’s Burial Ground’ on the 1916 edition.
Subrectangular platform (13.7m NE–SW; 10.6m NW–SE) defined by a scarp (H 0.5m at NE, 1m at SW). The scarp on the NW side is straight but on the other sides it is slightly curved or convex, giving the mound a roughly D-shaped plan. Stones protruding in parts on the external face of the scarp may be remnants of stone facing. Gravemarkers, consisting of small, uninscribed stones, barely protrude from the grass-covered surface of the platform.
According to local information, it was used as a burial ground for unbaptised babies from the locality; an inscribed horizontal slab at SE marks the grave of an adult.
