In pasture, located on a low rise in a lowlying area overlooked to SW and NE by higher ground.
Oval flat-topped stony mound (9m E-W; 6.6m N-S; H 1m at E, 1.4m at W) with broadly slumped sides. It is partly sod-covered around the base where a number of large stones and boulders protrude at SW and E. The top of the mound consists predominately of small stones, possibly field clearance.
According to local tradition, the field in which the cairn is located is known as 'Labbaderrig' or 'Leaba Dearg' and it is said to be the burial site of a giant who lived in a castle.
