This record refers to a bullaun stone which Knox (1904, 173-4) attributed to Oxford townland and which he described as follows: ‘one called Gloonpatrick is at Oxford by the side of a stream where a large bullaun is in a stone sunk in the earth with a few stone built round to keep out rubbish.’ Knox (1902 188-190) also recorded the tradition, that the hollow in the stone was worn by the knees of St Patrick when he knelt to pray
