Part of a holy well (MA080-046002-) named St. Patrick’s Well on the 1838 and 1919 OS 6-inch maps.
According to Knox (1902, 188-189), a bullaun stone formed an integral part of St Patrick’s Well. He noted that ‘The object of veneration is the water in an artificial hollow in a stone, not that of a natural spring.’ There was no visible trace of the bullaun stone when the well was inspected in 1998.
