In pasture, situated at the break of slope on top of the steep E-facing slope of a prominent hill, just above a small cliff-like rocky outcrop. There is a commercial quarry to W.
An oval embanked enclosure (c. 25m N−S; c. 20m E−W) is shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; it is not shown on later map editions. According to local information, there was a 'small garden field, about 20 feet across' at this location. It was not known as a ‘fort’ or rath in local tradition. It was removed during land reclamation, and there is no visible trace at ground level.
