What is recorded here

In pasture, located on a NW–SE ridge with a steep fall of ground on the NE side. Slightly raised, broadly oval area (39m E–W; 45.4m N–S) enclosed by an earth and stone bank. The bank (Wth 2.8m; int. H 0.65m; ext. H 1.3m at NNW) is best preserved W−NE where traces of internal and external stone facing are evident. It is lower and narrower (Wth 1.5m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1m) at NE−E, and it is levelled to a low undulation at SE−S. It is incorporated into a later field fence at S−SW, which respects the curve of the enclosure. There is a local tradition of a souterrain (MA074-011001-) in the interior. The interior is level and grassy; the perimeter is ringed with hawthorn trees.
