What is recorded here

In pasture, overlooked to WNW by a knoll, with rising ground also to NW–W. There are good views over an expanse of lowlying pasture to S. This cairn is not indicated on any edition of the OS 6-inch maps. It consists of a sod-covered, oblong mound of stones (5.6m NNE–SSW; 3.6m WNW–ESE; H 0.6-0.7m). According to local tradition, it is a burial site and is associated in legend with the two bowl barrows (MA062-093001-; MA062-093002-), which are located on top a ridge in Kilbride townland c. 1.5km to NNE. There is a rath (MA072-006----) 130m to E. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 26 May 2021
