What is recorded here

In flat, wet boggy pasture, located on the S bank of a small W-flowing stream, at the blind E end of a small valley, overshadowed at N, E, and S by the steeply rising valley sides. A grass- and heather-covered subcircular mound (8.7m E−W; 9.5m N−S; H 0.55m at NW, 0.3m at E) composed of heat-shattered stones in a matrix of black, charcoal-rich soil. The mound is higher at W−NW, sloping down gently toward the stream at N. A number of flat slabs lie on the bog surface in the vicinity of the mound. A cashel (MA072-082----) is located at the top of the slope at S. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 26 May 2021
