What is recorded here

In pasture, located on the E bank of a N-flowing stream in the base of a narrow, steep-sided valley. A N−S field drain with parallel field wall now borders the E side of the stream, intervening between the burnt mound and the stream A low, grass-covered, roughly D-shaped rise (c. 9m N–S; c. 6m E–W) of angular stones in dark soil, bordered on the straight side to W by the field drain. The mound appears to have been partly levelled; it is best defined at N−E but elsewhere its limits, particularly to S, are poorly defined. A slight depression on its SW edge may indicate the position of the trough. There is a rath (MA071-118----) 175m to NE. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 27 September 2021
