What is recorded here

In pasture, located on a natural rise, with good views. The Pollagh River is 200m to E. Indicated as an embanked oval enclosure on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; outlined by a single ring of hachuring on the 1931 edition. This rath has been levelled, but a slightly raised, roughly circular area (25m N–S; 22.5m E−W) can still be traced defined at SW−NE by a stony undulation at SW–NE, coinciding with the natural slope of the rise (H c. 0.8m). There is a gently raised area in the centre of the interior. A road, oriented roughly N−S, truncates E edge of the rath. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 14 September 2021
