Located on top of a ridge with a gentle fall of ground immediately to NW, providing good views SW−NE. At ESE ground level rises slightly towards the summit of the ridge.
Roughly circular area (diam. 23-25m) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 1.9m; int. H 0.85m; ext. H 0.85m, at E) which has been modified and incorporated into a later system of field walls. The bank is thickly ringed with hawthorn and blackthorn trees and the rath interior is engulfed in an impenetrable thicket of blackthorn. A field wall on a NW−SE axis crosses the interior to SW of centre. There is a possible rath (MA071-144----) 125m to SW and a rath (MA071-146----) 80m to NE.
