Located adjacent to a holy well (MA070-166001-). In 1838 OS Letters, O’Donovan recorded that 'There was formerly a tree at this place, around which the people were in the habit of fastening by a noose, cords (búaracha) that were used in tying cows. The Roman Catholic Bishop …got the tree cut down in order to prevent the people from getting on with such ceremonies.’ (O'Flanagan 1927, 370 (152))
