In the NE sector of a rath (MA070-121001-). Labelled ‘Cave’ on the first edition (1837) of the OS 6-inch map. A partially overgrown rectangular hollow (L 7.5m NNE-SSW; av. Wth 2m; D 1-1.3m) has a stone-lintelled opening (Wth 1m; H 0.7m) at its NNE end beyond which an inaccessible subterranean chamber extends towards the inner enclosing bank of the rath (traceable L 4m). According to local tradition, the souterrain comprises five “rooms” with “cubby holes” (possible creeps?) connecting them. Date of visit: 12-05-2025 Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy
